Crop Art

Crop Art (aka seed art) is a relatively new medium for Annmarie. She started working in this art form in 2024, when she joined Brian Barber and Scott Lund’s “Duluth Crop Art Group: The Seed Affair.” She has shown her crop Art work at the Minnesota State Fair, the Minneapolis Institute of Art and recently joined the Red Bean Krewe of New Orleans.

Past Work

“Goat!” Was created for the Minnesota State Fair in 2025, with the joke that people would point at Annmarie’s art and shout “G.O.A.T.!” (Slang for “Greatest of all time.”) this piece on a purple ribbon and went on to be displayed in the Minneapolis Institute of Art’s “Cream of the Crop” fall 2025 show.

“Veiled Manoomin Lady” was created for the 2025 Minnesota State Fair. She is a fan art piece of the Minneapolis Institute of Art’s “Veiled Lady,” made with a focus on using manoomin (wild rice).

“Princess Mary, She’s Non-Dairy” was created for the 2024 State Fair, entered as “Novice Category.” She is a fan art portrait of Minnesota Musician Mary Bue. The Minnesota State Fair is home to an ongoing series of live carved butter sculpture portraits of “Princess Kay of the Milky Way” goodwill ambassador program. Mary Bue is known for her animal rights advocacy and vegan lifestyle. Making her likeness in grains and seeds was a way of honoring her veganism.
